| Penang Makes It To Top 10 Liveable Cities List |

| PENANG: Penang has been ranked the 10th most liveable city in Asia in a survey of 254 cities. |
| |
| While the state showed an improvement from 12th place five years ago, Kuala Lumpur dropped two notches to ninth. |
| |
| The yearly survey by Employment Conditions Abroad Limited, a human resource consultant agency, is based on weather, air quality, infrastructure, health services, housing, security and politics. |
| |
| Singapore leads in the survey followed by Kobe with Tokyo and Osaka tied in third position. |
| |
| The other cities are Hong Kong (fifth), Macao (sixth), Taipei (seventh) and Bangkok (eighth). |
| |
| The non-liveable cities in Asia are Karachi, Pyongyang, Islamabad, Dhaka and Dili. |
| |
| Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon said: “Five years ago, Penang was ranked 12th while Kuala Lumpur was seventh. |

| “I hope Penang will continue to improve its ranking, not only for the expatriates but the locals as well.” |

| Penang had long been known for its quality living, he said when opening the three-day Penang International Property Expo 2007 yesterday. |

| The expo features RM5bil worth of properties and 60 exhibitors comprising housing developers, banks and government agencies from as far as Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. |
